Don't take it personal, Dude. He's a Nihilist, he believes in nossing. It seems like he's doing it just to get your goat and if he sees that he's done it then his resolve will be bolstered. If you just laugh him off or decline engagement when he starts his shit he'll get confused and maybe crash the plane into the mountain.

Best suggestion yet. You can't reason with unreasonable people, and that's exactly what the dude realized when trying to talk reasonably with the Big Lebowski. Eventually he said fuck it and went on with his life. Sometimes friends come and go man, part of life, which is merely moments in time, and sometimes friends come and go... ah look at me..I'm ramblin' again...
