What's the best rum to use for the ol' Cuba Libra' (rum-n-coke)? (And 'rock gut' ain't the answer!  ;))

I favour good ol' Wray & Nephew overproof white rum. But then I grew up in London amongst Jamaicans...

I've always found Castillo white rum to be tasty, mixable, and inexpensive.

An affordable and very good rum is Appelton Estate they have great white rum, and are a Jamaican brand I believe.
I used to make a mighty fine mojito with it when I lived near the Keys.

By the way, if you're just drinking rum in general. Go with Pussers.

I hadn't ever heard of Wray & Nephew, and now I will definitely try them, thanks roystonoboogie dude.
You're damned if you dude, you're damned if you don't.

All of these great rum recommendations are making me thirsty! Guess it's the pirate ancestor in my veins, eh? (Yo ho ho... What day is it man?)
I'll be doing some meandering today and I'll look for some of the suggestions up on the shelves.

In descending order:

Ron Zacapa 23 (top shelf in my opinion, almost too good to mix)
Cruzan 12 year single barrel, half the price of Zacapa, a fair substitute
Bacardi Superior if you're out in a bar or restaurant
Malibu, make a "Coco-Libre" that's surprisingly tasty when the mood is right

Nothing else makes the grade for me.  Meyers, SJ, Cpt, all ought to be banned in this country.

And yes, when it comes to this I'm picky... life's too short to drink crap rum.
