Someone on this site once noted that congress is indeed the opposite of progress. (I also note that congress begins with the word 'con', as in conman (which is what most of those nefarious crooks are, you know...)

Seriously, it attracts the worst kind of folks. Not saying I want a bunch of broke ass representatives, but there has to be a better point of balance than we have now. I also 100% support public funded elections, with limits on what can be raised by candidates and full disclosure on donations over, say $200 or something.

Being elected was never meant to be a way to get rich.
