Food for thought, grounds for further research

So, dudes...was wondering; how did Little Larry's homework get into the Dude's car? Any thoughts? Was it a setup?

Could it be because Larry Sellers was a dumbshit who boosted a piece of shit car for his ride home? That's not so uncommon in SoCal.

Other than that., it's one of those things based on fact in the movie. As the story goes Pete Exline's car was stolen and a 14 year old kid's homework was found in it. He and Lew Abernathy found the kid and confronted him about it, but Big Lew didn't then go outside and beat up a car. Not that I know this to be true; I'm just repeating something I've read that might be more fictional than our foundational fiction.
I'm just gone, man, totally fucking gone.
