I know a good professional app developer, but she'd charge regular rates...  want her contact info?

thanks hominid, but not yet - pretty soon i'm going to get cracking on designing a full dudeism app with the forum, the new social network, the dudespaper, dudeism and a bunch of other features (meditation coach/timer/calendar, random inspirational dudeist quotes from the upcoming tao of the dude book, etc.) and i'll need to hire someone for that. but at the moment i was just hoping there was a free method of creating an iphone app for the forum (just a separate app for viewing the forum, although this is just as easy to do in a browser really). there are two good free solutions for android but so far none for the iphone. weird.

I think the App should include places to bowl, get a burger and an oat soda for your basic dude. Ha! Just kidding; BUT, that does lead to my actual suggestion; I was thinking we need a section on the site as to where a dude could find shit he or she is looking for (perhaps a kind of Mashup) orientated toward helping a dude live the life. Stuff like......

- Where to buy jelly saddles, a dude like sweater, plaid shorts, etc.

- Location of your local In-And-Out-Burgers.

- Best local bowling allies, bowling gear, and lounges to have a cold one in.

- Dude like places to hang out.

- Contact information of other dudes near by, or where one may be if you are traveling.

- Places to meet (or take) your special lady (or dude friend if you are a female form) that appeal to your basic dude.

- Dudeism Meetups and any other dude-like events and locations.

- A dude like pad or room for rent.

- Even cool stuff like Bowling Alley sound effects and recordings for your iPad.

- Dude like stuff for sale or give away.

- Where to buy dude like furniture, cars, art, music, a rug, a Nixon bowling poster, an empty coffee can, etc.

- Any new shit that has come to light that a dude would find interesting and useful like best place to use the John if you are in town.

I know most of this stuff can be found online; but why not have it all in one location? It would be "user generated" information and anyone could contribute resources, feed back, reviews, stuff and experiences. Anything for living the dude like life style. A sort of "Craig's List" or in this case, a "Dude's List."

OK, so here it is...when the Dude and Walter were going to bury Donny, in order to save a 100 clams or more, Walter needed to know where to find his local Ralph's; what if he could have pulled out his trusty iPhone or Droid phone with the Dudeism App on it, go to the right section of the site and easily find his local Ralph's? The section I'm talking about (in this case) could include links to web resources such as where to find the closes Ralph's and more.

So, this is just like my opinion and suggestion, man.
