Will self-driving cars become a reality?

Google co-founder Sergey Brin believes that "self-driving cars will be far safer than human-driven cars" but who trusts them enough to drive in them or even alongside them?

"Anyone who gets inside a car and finds out the car is driving will be a little skittish. But they'll get over it."

- Jerry Brown, California State Governor

Well, it looks like they killed our fuckin' car - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/click_online/9755210.stm

What will they do with motorbikes? Who would want a bike that drives itself!
I did see an interesting new gadget for pedal cyclists. It's a collar you wear and in an accident it inflates an airbag around your head. You look like a storm trooper but it looks like it works

This would help me so much.

I am a delivery driver, but with a robot car, I could just send the car and relax back at the restaurant. Customers could just meet up with my car out in the parking lot.

Also, never have to drive the kid to school. The fucking car can take her!

Hey dude, can you come pick me up? Fuck no, but I'll send my car.  :D

When I am on mescaline, and really need a cheeseburger, I will finally have a ride.

I'm related to someone who has driven all over the place for years. He didn't consider a licence all that necessary.
If you believe you can tell me what to think.
I believe I can tell you where to go.
