I have a friend who wears a kilt and have to say there's a lot of admiration there.
A chunky calf is a bonus though, nothing worse than a coupla lollypop sticks sticking out the bottom.

The trend nowadays is to wear chunky timberland type boots with a kilt. A chunky jumper as well

Welcome to the club man.  As you might guess from the name I've been known to wear a kilt every now and then.  I actually own four at this time.  One word of caution, be careful of a good stiff breeze in the stillwater or you might end out showing more than you hoped due to how light weight it is.  I was married in a kilt, and the good dude willing I'll be buried in a kilt.
