New information has come to light:

Details are leaking of a top-secret, global corporate power grab of breathtaking scope -- attacking everything from a free Internet to health and environmental regulations, and we have just 4 days to stop it.

Big business has a new plan to fatten their pockets: a giant global pact, with an international tribunal to enforce it, that is kept top secret for years (even from our lawmakers!) and then brought down like a Death Star on our democracies. Big Tobacco, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Walmart and almost 600 other corporate lobbyists are all in on the final draft -- including limits on smoking laws, affordable medicines and free speech on the Net.....

Thanks for this Meekon5 - I was not aware of this. I've signed the petition, for what good it'll do. Even if this doesn't directly involve our country this is still a shocking piece of undudeness. A deal that big involving that many countries should not be a secret. Citizens should have the right to know what their government is doing "on their behalf".

I admit that I always find it a bit disconcerting when people discuss a giant "secret" cabal of wealthy individuals and corporate interests that seek to control every aspect of our lives.
I mean it's true. But the "secret" part is what eludes me.
I don't see much of this a "news". They've been systematically trying to control the internet every aspect of society forever. No secret.
Seems that the details are somewhat irrelevant.
It's the same old same old.
And people will continue to lap up the same swill that is shoveled at them through the TV until it's too late.
People will go eventually go fascist to protect their own freedoms. Out of nothing but pure ignorance and gullibility.
