US jails hacker who sold access to hijacked PCs

A US hacker (THE HUMAN PARAQUAT STRUMPET!!) who sold access to thousands of hijacked home computers has been jailed for 30 months. Fuckin' eh!!

Joshua Schichtel of Phoenix, Arizona, was sentenced for renting out more than 72,000 PCs that he had taken over using computer viruses.

I have no sympathy for such assholes. One dude in Malaysia defaced my wife's web presence (pretty well her main income source), causing her dozens of hours and hundreds upon hundreds of dollars damage. Took her a week to recover.  The asshole even had to the nerve to create a Facebook fan page, which of course I comment-bombed the hell out of.

Unfortunately, in the hacker community the guy in jail for 30 months will be seen as a hero, taking one for the team. It's still the wild west out there in the digital ether...
