More chiller than sci fi but the Michael Mann film "the keep" from the 80's is one to watch. Nazis, satanic monster, and a Jewish exorcist (of a kind!).

T2 is a fantastic film but I think it is more for the wow factor of the liquid metal guy that totally blow minds when it was released. Terminator is still the best in the franchise for me. 18 words with a heavy Austrian accent and the world was never the same. ;) imdo

Ya, you're right - the eye candy made the film, it was so far advanced for its time. So, perhaps not so much a cult film, but give it time... the special FX will start to look as cheesy as some of that 70's stuff after we all get our holodeck viewing rooms.

Was it Microsoft who just admitted to a patent for an immersion system that turns your roof into something similar ? Basically each wall is a screen

Yep, yet another invention based on Gene Rodenberry's vision of the future.

Is the final version? They added a few new "lost scenes."

wait wait... was the final version the one they released in the cinemas again or the one that came in the special metal box, along with about 6 other versions?!?!?!
i think they should ban director cut issues, its just a license to print money from all the weak minded sapps who MUST HAVE 15 extra seconds.
by the way, when is the avengers film coming out?  :P ;D

They re-released the "Directors Cut" because the DVD copy was crap (very grainy and looked like it was from a bad VHS version, which was almost the case) so they re-mastered it, then they did the big metal box thing with 5-6 versions if you count the Canadian leaked pre-release copy.

"The Final Cut" was the re-visited directors cut, the final statement from Ridley.

Some "Directors Cut2 versions are crap.

See Donny Darko, then watch the directors cut, it's horrible he should have left well alone.

Tarrantino refuses to re-cuts of his films (saying they are all perfect in the version he releases).

Yeah, true, the other versions were pretty bad; one of the worst, IMHDO, was the one with Harrison Ford's over dub more or less narrating the movie as it progressed, his narration was totally unnecessary. All in all, though, Blade Running still remains one of my all time favorite flicks in the Sci-fi milieu. Ridley Scott did a good job in my estimation.

The movie of Logans Run is a travesty compared to the book.

So has anyone noticed that The Blade Runner universe is the same as the Alien universe? Basically prometheous, alien, aliens, etc. comes after blade runner.

Here is an image showing the targeting graphics being the same as one example:

But then what the hell is going on with the Alien vs. Predator films? Is that the same universe as well? I mean Danny Glover, Arnold S. in an early timespace for Blade Runner?

How the hell did this happen?
