I buy old cars and part them out . I have a 1977 Dodge Ramcharger that I posted on Craigslist . Guy emails me and wants the whole truck . This is all fine and dandy but he wants it delivered to Arkansas and the truck and me are in Southern Illinois. After repeatedly telling this clown "NO!" ,come and get the damned thing, he becomes deaf and continues to blow up my cell phone asking over and over to get it delivered to the point I tell him to chill the fuck out . I finally talked it over with my brother to deliver this rusted hulk and he agrees to do it for $1 a mile . Another barrage of phone calls wanting me to measure it and get it there immediately . After all this annoyance , we prep it to ship out and this waste of oxygen backs out of the whole thing. I went ballistic and told him to never contact me again for any reason . I wanted to beat him thoroughly with a baseball bat. I tell everyone inquiring about the remains of this rusted carcass that I WILL NOT SHIP IT! DON'T ASK! I'm get pissed off just thinking about it....

My advice...<evil laugh>...get his cell number from your cell phone and sign the bastard up for about 500 sales calls from every company you can find so telemarketers will drive the dipshit nuts with phone calls for months. Include a few "survey companies," that will really drive him crazy.

This is the Walter in me ;D Across your line, he will no longer...!!

I've had fairly good luck with craigslist, but there are people on there who will drive you nuts. There are also those who like to mess with people. Perhaps he never had any intention of buying from you, and just wanted to see how far he could push things.

I would never deal with anyone from out of state unless it gave me a significant profit, and I could prove things were legit. 99.99% of the time, it's not worth the hassle.

shipping cars is s scam on there most of the time. They want to use their "movers" then try to send you a check to cover it. The fake money order or check bounces after you cash it and they send it for over the amount so there is extra to pay the "movers" then you give them the change and get to keep a little yourself for the trouble until the bank calls you and you owe them the 3500 for the bounced check and are out the car you sold for 2000. I don't know if that is the case and when you offered to use your own mover that is why he backed out.

A coworker of mine got scammed for his motorcycle and thousands plus the time it took him to crate and ship it to guess where?
nigeria
He just missed being able to stop the shipment after he was tipped it was a scam. It was his first ever paid for with money bought earned by the sweat of his own brow item as well.
