Hi Dudes,
I've been reading this forum for a year or so but did not register until today.

I did a search but maybe I missed him because of a difference in spelling (or I spazed somewhere?) but I'd like to nominate the "Doodah Man" from "Truckin'" by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter (both great Dudes themselves) as a great Dude in history. I've seen his image in a signature here but maybe I lost my train of thought and missed him in my searches.

I also seen Jimmy Buffett mentioned somewhere up above so I'd like to 2nd (or 3rd or 4th or . . . what wuz I talkn' about?) the nomination for him as a great Dude in history.  If there ever was a smoke'm if ya got?m (he probably does) or mellow (waist'n away in Margaritaville) kinda guy that really does the rebel shrug (Is it ignorance or apathy? Hey, I don't know and I don't care.) I think it's Jimmy.

I believe you'd be remiss not to induct former president Bill Clinton into the Great Dudes in History....also Comedian Stephen Wright would be a great one....laid back as they come man.

From what is Dudeism trying to liberate us?Thinking that's too uptight.

To what state of being is Dudeism trying to bring us? Just taking it easy, man.

By what means does Dudeism attempt do this? Abiding.

Don Felder : I know he was in the Eagles... but got booted by money hungry/controlling fellow band members.

The guy is "essence of Dude"

Read his book a few years ago and confirmed his "Dudeness"

I nominate The Fab Four (The Beatles!) were great dudes. They influenced a generation and still are influencing young folks with their music of peace and love.
Think about it. All you need is love... there is enough money, food, etc on this planet to go around. It's a matter of distribution. When there is love, there is sharing and caring.
John Lennon is as alive today in his music as he was 40 years ago in The Beatles.
"I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go"
Sounds a bit dudeism to me.
Do we have to write up the profile for those we nominate if they get chosen, or do you?

I have to agree ..... big influnce ....... and positive ....... pretty much.....
I have been knowen to par-take
