Otto von Bismarck voice recording released

A wax cylinder recording of German statesman Otto von Bismarck has been released, the first time his voice has been heard for more than 100 years.

;D I haff lingenberry pancakes....

The recording was made in 1889 by a technician working for the inventor of the phonograph, Thomas Edison.

It has now been restored using digital technology by the Thomas Edison National Historical Park museum.

that is one of the true wonders of the web (IMDO).

How else would people like ourselves be able to hear this sort of thing without working for some huge museum (OH wait I do work for some huge museum).

Nice find DB.

Thanks man. Yeah, totally agree, love the internet. It is indeed like having a museum and library right on your desk. And I don't even work at some huge museum ;)
