Never argue with an idiot, because they will drag you down to their lever, then beat you with experience.

"Paraaaaise the lord and pass the ammo!"

What a bonehead that pastor was. I've grown to detest the whole lot of them. He shot down Dawkins for being intellectually arrogant, then pulls that stunt. Who is the arrogant one?

Oh Haggard set the bar for nut jobs. It's impossible to watch him without remembering that he was having an ongoing relationship with a gay male prostitute and doing meth the whole time that he was up there preaching. I mean he is just one of the all time creepiest creatures ever.

That second video - the comic was genius.

And how many other fallen religious people are there? Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker... Too many to count. It's all such a sham.

And you have to remember that in our society they have to soften the message.
I suspect that they are at least an order of magnitude more evil than what we see.
I mean the very meaning of a "Fundamentalist" Christian means that they believe the bible in entirety without interpretation. That means that they believe in Slavery, Stoning, Genocide and a host of other atrocities. It is with perfect clarity that the Bible espouses all of them.

Yep, the old codger up in the sky sure had his freak on back then. That, plus creating people that he said he loves, but punishes them in eternal fire if they don't obey and worship him. Nowadays they call that being a psychopath.

Unfortunately the majority of mankind actually LIKE that shit, and follow it out of fear. I half-understand it actually... People like fences; answers to basic questions of our value, purpose, etc. It isn't until we become wholly and completely comfortable in own skin that we stop looking externally for answers to those age-old questions. Me anyways...

Caesar dude

Both of you think exactly as I do.

I cannot conceive of a loving (insert: Father, Brother , Mother, Guardian...etc..) that would deliberately and for all time punish someone and for all time ban them from the peaceful garden....just for eating an apple!

Never mind if they just contemplate what it might be like to sleep with someone's pretty wife...

ooops I'm rambling again...must be feeling guilty...

;D
Love is like a butterfly it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. :)

Ya, that's why the whole Zen thing is so cool. No deities to appease; no churches to grab 10% of my income, no rules telling me I can't jerk off manually. Or smoke a jay. Just self-realization, and a cool bunch of dudes to hang with.

BTW, this stance does in fact make the absolute statement that ANY monotheistic religion has it wrong. Bronze-age sacred texts don't cut it. Sorry.

Did we go to school together Hominid? ;)
Nothin' wrong with being compeers I say. There's a few of us here. DB and BD are other ones. Birds of a feather.

Well, dudes, if I abided by the rule of thumb of "Never argue with a drunk or disturbed person" I would never be able to argue with myself or have an oat soda with myself. ;D

.....and I do both as much as I can. :D
