I mean, come on. All you have to do is read a couple of his books. One of the great dudes of our time. RIP HST

I like Thompson, he's a little beatkink..."The rum diary" is great, really great. But he have a lot of misantropic feelings, and that's cool, very cool but i don't know if he's dudeist, maybe i have to read another book of Thompson.
Well dude, we just don't kinow.

pd: Ah! i forgot "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas" i just saw the movie, and i liked it, a lot.
Dime Sandra.¡¡Que ridiculo!!

Although Hunter S. Thompson did follow a strict drug regimen to keep his mind limber, he was really WAY too intense to be considered a dudeist.  And quite frankly, blowing ones brains out is EXTREMELY un-Dude like.

The reason I'm posting in here is that I didn't want to open a redundant thread. Why start a new one when the old one will do? Plus I'm conin' into this thing way behind to start with.
Thompson was intense, and a gun lover but I don't see why this would preclude him being one of the great dudes in history. Shit man, one year he got sent to Florida to cover the Super Bowl and had high end tickets which he sold to some guy for just enough money to buy drugs, liquor, and whores and then watched the game in his hotel room while drunk, stoned and distracted by
VAGINAThat seems a pretty dudely way to spend a weekend. And how much more laid back and drug addled could one dude have possibly been than to actually blow off going to the Super Bowl?

Thompson would be seem better qualified for a Walter Sobchak Lifetime Achievement Award than a Great Dude plaque.

I love Hunter S. Thompson, and while his persona he made for himself was very intense, if you watch one of the documentaries about him, you'll find he was a very friendly, loving guy.
