am i too late to bring up this topic? i  learned over the past 20 years that there are people who dont know what IN N OUT even IS.
this astounded me as i grew up on these and assumed they were as prevalent as the golden arches.

any dude not know about these?
i lived in austin texas from ages 21-41 and missed the hell out of this place, then in portland oregon and missed them not being there also.
the one highlight of having to move back to calif is i am finally within a miles drive once more of the one thing that truly tempts me.
im thinking of hitting up the one the dude drove to after visiting the larry's house.
dude out.

No IN N' OUT burgers in the middle of the Pacific sadly...more like folklore around here. My broheim who's attending college in Cali can't stop ranting about it. I figure i'll visit it on a Dude pilgrimage one day.

A pilgrimage would be deeply rewarding, dude. A few beers, a few burgers (some coitus on the side), yur troubles are over, dude.

make sure to get the double-double ANIMAL STYLE which is not on the menu but there are many secret phrases that the newcomers dont know about. otherwise you might be like, 'meh, this is good and all but not that different than many others'.... ANIMAL STYLE, dude.
god, i want one now, for breakfast, 10:30 am is when they start making the magic

;D Behold, a holy temple of Dudeism.............

The experience - http://www.99w.com/evilsam/ff/innout.htm

CyberDude

I never had the honor of eating there. None on the east coast it seems. If I ever  journey to California It'll be my first meal there.
One who is a Dude must before all things keep constantly in mind...the fact that he has to take it easy.

Just had a 5 Guys Regular (which is a 2x2) two weeks ago. It looks like maybe they copied their decor from In N' Out...maybe their menu too?

5 Guys were good burgers but a bit pricey for this area...but I guess they gota feed their monkey.
They cut and fry their fries right there as well, but I'm not a fry fan and was not impressed. I did like the free peanut bar though...or is that B'ar? 8)

The decor is pretty classic burger joint style if you ask me. Burger box (texas) has the same deal, they've been around forever.  If you like fries with your burger, 5 guys is tops. Especially with the Cajun seasoning if you request it. (might be regional).

Not a fan of free peanut places, always seemed messy and pointless to me. Kinda a turn off when I see it, so that was a minus for me about 5 guys.

Really want to try In & Out.

there is nothing as good as a good double double animal style.
i mean, its a fucking messy undertaking, man, dont get me wrong, you need big hands and lots of napkins.  and to see three adults and one child sitting at a table moaning with happiness, ALL OF US, and them strangers to me but no feelings on anyone's part of hiding the relish in which we ingested our magical meat???? very very good few minutes.
i dont even remember their names but they were very dude.

Quaker Dude

I don't know what's wrong with my hometown, dudes; no In n' Out, no White Castle, not even a Krystal.  I somehow got hosed by fate into being born at geographically untraversable distances from all the renowned burger chains.

Not that I can complain much though - we do have a pretty sweet burger joint here in NC called Cookout, and they have something like 41 custom milkshake varieties.  Nothing better than doing a J in the bright-and-early, then demolishing a chicken tender plate and a caramel fudge shake for lunch.
