Heavy Metal Dudes???

Alright fellow dudes... here's my conundrum... I'm a metal-head, always have been. I discovered Dudeism about a year and a half ago. Now, to me, Metal is one of the pieces of my foundation, metal is my rug that ties the room together. However, Metal tends to be very aggressive, and not always the Dudeliest of pastimes. As a PERFORMER of Heavy Metal, I am often left feeling like I'm being pulled in multiple directions, as my nature is to be a very mellow individual, with few cares besides the basics. So I have to ask all of you, what are your thoughts on my situation? How would YOU suggest I maintain my balance between being as good at the Metal as I love being, but still abiding?

I'm a metal fan too. Depends on how metal i guess, but my best bro is a metal guitarist and plays Texas metal, pantera style. I know alot of metal heads who are purists, but then again i know a lot of dudes who just dig metal too.

I imagine Jack Black is one of those types. I have a thing for Meshuggah when i want to rock out.

I managed to learn about Buddhism and Asatru at the same time, so strange combinations are possible. Buddhism says hurt no one, Asatru says be a warrior. I like heavy metal too. When I feel something may be wrong here, I tell myself that at least some Buddhist monks practiced martial arts to be able to defend themselves. You can be strong enough to fight and refuse to do this without a cause.
