I am proud to announce that I filled out my copy of the census and put in the "Religion" question

Dudeist Pagan.

(So that's probably buggered up all the bloody statistics)

I shall do the same. Exactly the same...There are now two of us!
Love is like a butterfly it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. :)

Our household comprises of one Dudeist, and one Secular Atheist Buddhist.

Also, I not only did I put down my national identity is English and British, but I added in Kentish, for a bit of local pride :)  Take that, Cornish!

I was tempted to put down my ethnicity as Dwarven and my prime language as Khazalid, but the impending courtcase was not worth the hassle :(

So two in 60 million = 0.0000033333% of the population are Dudeist Pagan.

And three in 60 million = 0.0000050000% Dudeist.

Unfortunately much like the term Pagan all versions will list themselves as Wiccan, Neo Pagan, Pagan, Asteru, Norse Tradition, as is their right, but the census wont count them as all Pagan it will count them as different categories of other.

The same with Dudeist they will count all the Dudeist's as one other category and all the Dudeist Pagans as another other, and all the Dudeist Christians as another.

So the stats that eventually come off the National Statistics will be slightly miss representational.

(Sorry all day with Business Information and Stats makes me very anal about these things).

"two out of every five accidents on the road are caused by drunk drivers" which goes to show if all the none drinking drivers are taken off the road they would be a lot safer.

I was wondering how many people would put down Dudeist, and who would put down Dudeism, Church of the Latter Day Dude, or just Dude, and then the exercise in unity and recognition does fall flat.  But, hey-ho, that's what diversity and the use of the the "Other" box gets you these days :)

If they'd been clever (or even bothered) the "other" box could have used previous answers to suggest ways to fill the info in.

But as usual it's another cheap ass government site.

(wait who is it I work for?)

An Ex girlfriends father always listed himself as Welsh as nationality and would not consider any other definition.

You do get a lot of Celtic pride amongst our non-english Brit cousins, and some bloody-minded nationalism in each of our four corners.

I do enjoy the little jokey rivalries you get, even if some of them can be stupidly serious.  Such as us vs the French, the Scots vs us and the Cornish vs everyone.  I myself am a born and bread Kentishman, but half of my best friends are Essexians (scum that they may be).  To be honest, this pathetic little Portsmouth vs Scumhampton (I mean, of course, Southampton) rivalry just doesn't amuse me that much after 10 years down here :)

It's basically naval port against commercial port. You get similar around any "garrison" town. I haven't noticed it as much around Airforce stations (but then they tend to be out in the middle of bloody no-where), but it is very common near army and navy bases (because they tend to be nearer large populations, because the army and navy tend not to drag their kids, and families, around the world with them like the Airforce do).

Sorry ex-airforce pack brat, born in Libya, lived in mainland Europe (yes the UK is part of Europe as much as its inhabitants try to pretend its not) for years, moved around the UK a huge amount, parents had 22 houses in 21 years of being married.

I was thinking for the next census I would have to fill out I will simply state that my religious views are simple............

I abide.

IMDO "Dudeism" is the preferred nomenclature, though I suppose "Church of the Latter-Day Dude" would be acceptable if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

Being a dedicated slacker, I prefer the brevity version. ;D

Problem there would be skewing  the statistics, that would mean we were counted differently, listed as "Dudeist" for one group and "Church of the Latter-Day Dude" for another.
