IMDO "Dudeism" is the preferred nomenclature, though I suppose "Church of the Latter-Day Dude" would be acceptable if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Problem there would be skewing  the statistics, that would mean we were counted differently, listed as "Dudeist" for one group and "Church of the Latter-Day Dude" for another.
Ah, true.  In that case, we should come to a consensus regarding the preferred nomenclature, i.e. "Dudeism" is the religion, "Dudeist" is one who follows or subscribes to that religion, and "Church of the Latter-Day Dude" is the denomination.  Or something like that; wiser fellers than myself would have to make that determination.
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

We just tend to bat that sort of thing around until we all get bored of it or reach a consensus.

But I like that:

I can dig that.  It can be a bummer having to conform to the uptight thinking of the status quo, i.e. those for whom everything must be explained, labeled, classified, and pigeon-holed, but we have to deal with the realities of the world in which we are currently living.

Coming from a wise feller such as yourself, I take that as a compliment.  It's a start, anyway.
