Well Dudes it seems that if you are a big pharmacuetical company you can sell pot, but if you are not a big time achiever you go to jail for the same thing.

The DEA is about to list THC as a sched III drug when used by manufacturers but the plant will remain schedual I for all others. Some how they are making the claim that cannabis has zero medical value, unless you own a multi billion dollar pharmacutical company, then it has medical value, or monetary value that is. Follow the money right?

As a DEA spokesperson quoted in the story explains, ?THC, natural or synthetic, remains a schedule I controlled substance. Under the proposed rule, in those instances in the future where FDA might approve a generic version of Marinol, that version of the drug will be in the same schedule as the brand name version of the drug, regardless of whether the THC used in the generic version was synthesized by man or derived from the cannabis plant.?

So, in other words, if a pharmaceutical product contains THC extracted from the marijuana plant, that would be a legal commodity. But if you or I possessed THC extracted from the marijuana plant, that an remains illegal commodity.

Wait, it gets even more absurd.

Since the cannabis plant itself will remain illegal under federal law, then from whom precisely could Big Pharma legally obtain their soon-to-be legal THC extracts? There?s only one answer: The federal government?s lone legally licensed marijuana cultivator, The University of Mississippi at Oxford, which already has the licensing agreements with the pharmaceutical industry in hand.

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but haven't we heard this before? There has been talk that it is illegal because big pharma couldn't find a way to profit from it, now they have, and now it is about monopolizing the market with the help of government storm troopers.

I call foul! This is over the line!

Fuck it, nothing ever changes, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
The absurdity mirrors the catch 22 element in everything the government does. :o ??? ::) ::) ::)

Do we actually expect the brainless idiots currently running the country to think accurately about hemp?

We're talking about the same morons who spent 12 million tax payer dollars, or clams, or what have you, to put a legitimate business man, Tommy Chong, in jail for selling "glass pipes" arbitrarily designated "drug paraphernalia" by the shit-for-brains in the "Justice Department" simply because you COULD smoke hemp in one.

You could also smoke tobacco in the same pipe. The pipes, it was claimed, were for smoking hemp and therefore illegal; I was wondering if they are going to illegalize matches next because said matches can be used to light the hemp in one of Tommy's horrible evil immoral dangerous society killing glass pipes?

Do we really believe these assholes can actually "think?"

By the way, these (congress) are the same ASSHOLES who did nothing to stop or prosecute a few people a couple of years ago from stealing BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars from the American public, not only did the same "justice department" not do a fucking thing to these asshole sub human pieces of shit bankers and their buddies, they in fact rewarded them for what they had done by giving them more BILLIONS AND BILLIONS to "fix the mess" they had made.

These are the assholes WE have put in power, it is about time WE took these fuckers OUT OF POWER and lock them up for life.

People always try to destroy what they fear. Key word "fear." But, more to the point, "you look for the person who benefits" .........

Greed

Marijuana's potential for producing inexpensive paper made the timber industry nervous, and budding technologies--which put hemp into the competition for synthetic fibers, cellophane, methanol, super-strength plastics, paint, medicines, textiles, ship sails and foods--prompted tycoons who faced billions of dollars in subsequent losses to initiate fear campaigns (spreading claims of insanity and murder) and to lobby for the plant's prohibition.

Spread the word..........

You know, by this logic, you can also smoke weed out of a potato.

Man, Idaho is right and proper fucked.

(for our non-US bretheren, Idaho is known for producing potatoes. I don't know how common this is known outside the country)
At least I'm housebroken.

Somebody, QUICK, ban potatoes!!!!

Anyone who worked in a restaurant knows how to make pipes out of most veggies and fruit.

The only thing that will work is to prohibit being human.

Damn good idea, ban all humans! Then hemp wouldn't be "a problem."

So. Does this mean that we will soon the legalized sale of marijuana?

Because I can just hang on to my 'lucky's box of marijuana cigarettes I bought from the store, and buy the same paper they will use to wrap em, and label em.

Or why would it even matter, by then cops wouldn't be able to regulate the damn things, or care because too much would be happening with it, and they would be too high.

right?
You're damned if you dude, you're damned if you don't.

This is one issue that I let my inner Walter run free. This is likely the most retarded policy in the west, I am convinced it's only purpose is to punish the hippies.

Well you know it's like that thing with the woman and the snake.
We know they are snakes.
And I find the weed thing so informative. The most uptight closet ass grabbers in their suits are the ones who hate weed the most. And they so need to smoke some weed and loosen the fuck up man.
But that would lead to the downfall of western civilization.

Basically, here we sit with a fubar economy, oil spills, pollution, unrest, an all time low in education, all time high in obesity yadda yadda yadda..... and still they point their fingers at stuff like weed as being evil.
Fuck it man. Party like it's 1979. All the years between have added up to zippo.
We should have just kept the party rockin. How could we be worse off?

Out here we are all his children
