 8) Stayed on the west coast of Scotland - on a tour of the Highlands - with Mrs. Cakes, a few years ago; she was offered a glass of 'privately' sourced whiskey (because her surname is Burns and she was checking out her root's in the 'old country'). She said it went down as smooth as liquid silk - no after-burn whatsoever. I was roundly ignored (because I'm a Sassenach) - I think I may have been allowed to purchase an oat soda.

Cakebelly if you take all your signature pictures and run them chronologically in a slide show forwards then backwards do the bubbles pulse in and out?

;D That would be cool - come to think of it, on the 'newer' software there is a kind of pulsing transition. (Just to clarify, I didn't add the dew drops to this one, just a few tiny gold bubbles and the pics inside the drops).  8)

Sounds like a good time had by all. Was that an Irish oat soda?

The juxtaposition calls for the comment; a few burgers, a few shots of  privately sourced smooth whiskey and our troubles are over, dude.

Fucking eh.

I'm Scottish, and as I like to say, am here on missionary work in England....now being an Ordained priest makes that even more relevant!

But to my point...

I never used to drink whisky...(strange for a Scotsman you might think?) Because, one new years eve at the age of 12, me and my next door neighbour who was of similar age, discovered a bottle of Bell's and hid behind a settee while the adults got drunk and ignored us....I was laid up for three days...had to pretend I had flu!! So never touched another drop until I was in my thirties...

Then a very rich friend of mine introduced me to single malts...and I was luck enough to share several nights and bottles of varying qualities with him...If any of you are lucky enough to be offered a Talisker 41 year old Glenrothes do not hesitate!

I believe it's the Angel's own drink...

Hic.  ;)

It's so sad that people need to settle for scotch when they could be drinking bourbon.
Sadly I've had to abstain recently but with the holidays I'm allowed a few glasses
on special occasions.
I prefer Booker's.
