Jever Pilsener is a very good beer!!! Though I have to admit I prefer the Beck's stuff from Bremen

I had to look that up! No mate never been on a walk like that but I've stomped plenty of miles through German fields and forests I can tell you!

I used to be in the military over there and was posted down in Rheinland on the border with Holland. travelled all over Germany though. Beautiful place you got there dude.

I now abide in Norwich England.

Spent a Christmas (and New Year) in Germany; a place called Westerstede (old girlfriend's place). Really nice place - lots of woodland, neat and picturesque town. Made it to Norwich once (for a weekend); recall the starlings putting on a show at dusk over the Cathedral and drinking in a pub called "The Murderers" - is it still there?

Caesar, you never been on a "Gruenkohlwanderung", man, you missed something out while being over here! The idea is to go with loads of people for a walk (longer or shorter as you like), have lots of beverages on the way, then invade a restaurant, eat and drink a little bit more and spend the rest of the night dancing and drinking. It is a North German tradition - I suppose they invented it to get through the dark and cold months somehow. It certainly has the potential to kill the following day, too.

Unfortunately I have never been to Norwich, must be a great place.

Yep the Murderers is still a thriving city centre pub. I pop in there occasionally for a beer or two.

Norwich is a great little City....lots of winding lanes and good pubs. I've lived here for nine years now...
