Well I kind of bowl. And I have to say that the enlightenment post has added to my appreciation of bowling. The moment of choice is very clear to a bowler. There is nothing else in the game.
But the game I play most is Go. It's actually a lot like bowling, similar sounds, similar surface, and the moment of choice too. But so much more intimate - you can't really embrace someone's soul in bowling the way you can in Go.
The Dude would make a fine Go player. He has a genuine feel for the non-locality of events. Which makes me think, y'know, a sequel could be a fine thing ...
