I remember watching that at the time.
I had an older brother that was there.
My Mom was worried sick.
I've been to the site.
It's not really out in the middle of nowhere.
Maybe it was then but as it is now I can't even imagine trying to get half a million people in there.
I saw Lynyrd Skynyd there last year.
The amphitheater is up the hill from the original site but it's the same basic place.
What struck me is how commercial it is now.
Can't bring a chair in but they will rent you one for $20.
$8 bucks for an 8 ounce beer.
And the cops! I have never been through such a heavy atmosphere with the cops.
When you leave you walk down through a gauntlet of cops just glaring at you from both sides of the walkway.
Dozens of them who look like they are just itching to kick somebodies ass.
You can just feel the hatred for the "Woodstock" types.
One of them followed us on our bikes for miles after we left.
I shit you not. Eventually he turned around.
And that was at a Skynyrd concert!
Really a bummer.
But it was a great show.
I may go back this year despite the reactionaries.
They didn't tell me to stay out of Malibu yet.
