Pulp Fiction as a proof that God is insane? C'mon. The whole movie is crazy and grotesque on purpose so they choose whatever fits that style. As I have written before - the Bible has many strange passages that make your stomach turn, no doubt. But not everyone applies all of this to everyday life. Otherwise we would be lacking any neighbours soon.

You're not reading my post correctly - I'm saying that the quote (...not the movie) is evidence of god's vengeance and anger. Yes, not everyone applies the bad parts of the bible to their lives, which is a good thing as you say... but it does provide adequate reason to not take any of it seriously. Otherwise, you're cherry picking.

Ok, to put it longer - Pulp Fiction with their choice of saucy Bible quotes inside is crazy on purpose. It is a movie about people who shoot with a smile. Leon the Professional is a very square thing compared to this. In the life outside criminal stories the believers ARE cherry picking the whole Bible all the time, even the priests. And yes, they still claim the whole text is sacred, I suppose that's the power of tradition. I cannot remember the last time I have heard from my priest something about the necessity of killing the whole enemy tribe. It is the atheist crew who read aloud all the gory passages and make us aware of them. And there are also some people who happened to read things like the writings of Martin Luther (the German one), saying that unless you read the whole Bible more than once, you are an idiot, knowing nothing about God (that's me). If you ask an average Polish Catholic about some massacre description, they would be amazed like a two year old babe, even if they have gone through the baptism, the Lords supper, the confirmation and whatever else they need.

You're not making any sense to me...  I'll refrain from engaging any further; have a good day sir.

In a nutshell - both Old Testament massacres and Pulp Fiction shootings are something far away for an average believer reading those parts of the Bible that tell about lost sheep, lilies of the field and similar nice things. I cannot say precisely why we do not read the whole text but it is like this. White doves flying over battlefields, who cares about the corpses below.
