The science of stress or why we should take a load off.
« on: April 30, 2016, 02:49:03 PM »
After studying a mindfulness course recently, one of the things that stuck in my brain, was a discussion about the amount of stress we deal with on a day to day basis.

This level, or Allostatic load, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allostatic_load, is the weight we carry around that keeps us from abiding and taking it easy. The way we deal with this, is to (in dudeist fashion) say Fuck it and not worry about that shit. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allostasis).

The arousal cycle, to do with our hormonal responses to situations, (anger/ fear, happiness/ depression) also plays a part in maintaining the balance, with every high, comes a low, like a wave and our aim is to ride that wave and keep it as level as we can.

Interesting stuff dudes.

After several co-worker suicides they have implemented mandatory stress training where I work, you're right man some of that stuff is pretty interesting. It's crazy how you can carry around stress that slowly changes your personality without even realizing it.

I know right? I have an interest in biology and neuroscience, I like to know how the body and mind work and for me dudeism fulfils the soul aspect somewhat.

I was also interested in how much physical damage stress can do aside from driving people to despair, you can literally stress yourself a heart attack!

There are studies down there somewhere, that show people who take it easy, really do live longer.

It's nice to know, there are scientists out there, taking it easy to help humamity and I might look into this a bit more, right after a nap.

Hey dudes, I looked a little deeper into how and why stress affects us so much and found this;

Oh and sagedude, good find, man, will check the rest out at some point.

I have thought about stress being a wave and thought "are we surfers of stress?" If we are trying to maintain balance in our lives, are we riding the waves of emotion?

Being relaxed with a limber mind, gives us a better sense of where that balance is. Being grounded/ centred keeps us stable, while going with the flow.

Bill Hicks said life is a ride and I kinda agree. Some of us really enjoy the experience, others can't wait to get off. The more stress we have, the less we enjoy the ride.

Also this;

Stress is indeed something people have to deal with every day, and that's pretty sad. I managed to learn how to cope with it only a few weeks ago by taking full spectrum cbd oil, and I wish I'd discovered it sooner. I'm learning how to avoid stress in my life, but for now, it doesn't seem to work for me. At least, yet.

You know, it's generally very nice when everything is fine with your health. At one time, when, after the transition from a stressful state to bliss, after this I even began to rejoice at someone else's happiness. Therefore, I recoomend everyone to look at this site https://cbdreakiro.com/cbd-oil-uk-amazon with cbd nutritional supplements, because what could be better than just enjoying life

Now, that's fucking interesting, man.  Health and stress.  Not so much the illhealth being caused by stress, but illhealth causing stress.  Some Dudeist outreach to the millions experiencing Long Covid and something akin to chronic fatigue syndrome?  When your body forces you to take er easy--or enter a world of pain!-- that can be humbling and stressful for some folks who are still into the whole achieving thing (and that's cool, man, that's cool).  They need a Dude spirit guide to help them aspire to running high on the list of laziest world wide.

Hello. Many people have faced the same problems. Therefore, to help you, I would like to mention that you should order weed online, which will help you feel much better. Just try and use the benefits of this product for your body. I'm sure your condition will improve and you will thank me. Have a nice day.

Well, I think it's enough to accept the beneficial effects of cannabis, and there's no need to make a religion out of it, that's pretty messed up. I mean, I buy cbd seeds and grow cannabis myself, but I don't make a cult out of it. For me, cannabis is a good way to cope with stress and anxiety, but nothing more.

I think every person converted to the church of Cannabis from something more uptight is a victory.
