Shirley Temple passes

It's a sad day for those of us who delighted in Hollywood's delightful Shirley Temple. She died today at the age of 85.

DB's head is bowed  :'(

"This cute little bundle of talent proved to be a goldmine for Hollywood. She could sing, act, and dance, and instantly became a child celebrity. She said, I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph."

I nominate Shirley Temple for Great Dude in History

Oh that's sad.

I didn't realise she was still going (well she isn't now).

Dude! Same here! I had no idea she still had life in her before today? Much love to this gem of an actress.  :'(

I remember wondering 20 years ago if she was still alive, then thinking, "Eh." when I found out she was.

Her daughter at one point played bass for the Melvins. The lead singer dated the daughter and spent some time at the Temple/Black house back in the day - he called it "David Lynch weird":
