As a non-smoker, I see it as nothing major. I remember being told it was a gateway drug, it would fry your brain, etc. Neither do I buy into the argument that because it's natural it's great (bitter almonds are natural but they make cyanide).

However, I am pro-weed. Mostly because I don't give two flying fucks. As long as you don't drive on it, but it's more dangerous to drive on sleeping pills and most cough medicines.

Also, from what an old buddy told me (he wanted me to grow some) you just dry it. I live in North Carolina, top tobacco state, and that shit is dried and cured with some really horrible shit.

So although it has cannabis, my scientific parts of my brain tell me that cannabis has to be a lot safer than propane tanks and other weird shit in tobacco curing barns.

That, and weed may ease my migraines.

I see nothing wrong with weed so long as it isn't used in excess.

I've been smoking on off for a long time and not once have I ever thought "man, this weed isn't doing it for me, I need to get some crack!"
The only gateway I see is through the dealers, who may try to push other drugs. Some of the stories my friends have told me who I use to buy from are scary but before I moved to holland, we had all gone home grown and sold to each other, a veritable cottage industry ;)

I've been growing some plants out on my back patio.  Basically, I threw down some seeds and let Mother Nature do her thing.  They're just now starting to bud up.  I can't wait until they're ready for harvest.  I've been a weed fiend off and on since high (heh) school.

I have epilepsy and am bipolar, so I like to claim that I'm using it for medicinal purposes, but really, I just like getting high.  I wish I had some right now, but I'm unemployed and broke.

I tend to only smoke at night once the kids are asleep. It's a nice way of taking the edge off the day.
I'm not that keen on smoking during the day any more unless the kids are away and I can waste a day without feeling guilty or worried about the time
