I think they were giving respect to the Dude. I like the interview with the real DUDE.

I just think the host probably didn't really pay attention to the film, or maybe he doesn't have any concept of thinking outside the box.

Maybe didn't even see the movie.  He deffinately screwed up with the 'dooy'ism'.    Dude-ism....jeezus man. 

They didn't touch on dudeism really, just the character of the dude.
