Title: Horse Badorties, the proto-dude, approved by ?ber-dude, Vonnegut

So, imagine the Dude is dreaming about becoming a better Dude. Impossible, you say, right? How could the Dude imagine?nay, how could any mortal imagine?a Dude-lier state? Well, let's just imagine anyway, man, because until you have read The Fan Man, by William Kotzwinkle, you don't even have an inkling of just how far out the state of oneness with the inner Dude can be.
I'll say it again: The Fan Man. Wiliam Kotzwinkle. If there's a Dude equivalent of, like, Psalms 23 or the Bhagavad-Gita, this is it, man. Strap in, light up your censer of dried Peruvian mango leaves, and dork out. (Vonnegut wrote the foreword, in which he basically says, "Sit down, strap yourself in, and give up, man. Or don't.")

Yeah, man.
Horse & The Love Chorus. Only ever met one other person who's read it.
Far Out!
