Absolutlely, Bill is a Dude.  But not for his acting work--even the great and glorious Carl Spackler in Caddyshack!  If you have ever met him in person, if you recall his amazing and still underrated work on SNL, if you have seen his dozen or so appearances on Letterman, if you were lucky enough to hear him sing "Take Me Out To The Bll Game" at Wrigley Field, then you will see that this is one of the most casual, centered, funky, and genuine people in the public light.

After some consideration, I believe that Bill is the only guy who could have played The Dude other than The Dude himself.

It's good knowing he's out there.

The Bill abides.

Dudes,

I was reading some interviews with Bill Murray this afternoon. If there was any doubt of his dudeliness, this should take care of it:

"I realized the more fun I had, the more relaxed I was working, the better I worked... The more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything: the better you are with your loved ones, the better you are with your enemies, the better you are at your job, the better you are with yourself."

This is nice, but I'm stuck on the 'Don't procrastinate' and 'care' parts.

Besides, caring canbe takin within different context. Cometimes not caring is what helps you most

I agree - Bill Murray is indeed Dude material. (I'm also for Dan Ackroyd - you can't get much more Dude than creating your own prize winning Vodka and having it recommended by the Rolling Stones!)
