Actually watched TBL twice today and I have a question about the beginning of the film. Apparently he's been out bowling. On the way home he stops at Ralph's for some half-and-half. He's wearing his bathrobe in the store and when he arrives home. He enters his apartment and is attacked by a Treehorn goon. He's also carrying his bowling ball. I'm confused by this. Why does he have his bathrobe and his bowling ball at the same time? Did he get home from bowling, go back out to Ralph's for half-and-half and then realize he'd left his bowling ball in the car?

I don't think he's been out bowling.
I'd say he's carrying the bowling ball from his car.
But hadn't been out bowling.
I have a baseball bat in my car.
