Post by: DigitalBuddha on August 14, 2009, 03:35:27 AM
Don't know about you dudes, but when the Big JL "advises" the dude to do what his parents did and "get a job, sir." My mind's eye sees a most undude vision of hell.................

I got laid off from what you could say was a pretty dude job about 4 months ago - working in a hospital running a clinic. For the most part all our patients were really cool (about once a week you'd get some real reactionary asshole come in and yell at you / and or get all pissed off about some stupid shit like having to wait, but this was a most un-common experience), the doctors were all really friendly and supportive, and there was very little actual work to be doen other than making sure patients were checked in and their notes found. Plus my colleges were awesome - we were all roughly the same age and we'd all hit the pub on a friday for more than a few oat sodas. All in all it was a pretty sweet job dudes - damn do i miss it...

But you cant worry about that shit man

Well, being unemployed I guess will be one of the most common state in the future. With peace to all politicians and employees who say the crisis is almost over. Well, they earn far more then 20.000 bucks per month so they probably don't even know what a crisis is. F*****g cleft assholes. Here in Italy if you are over thirty there simply aren't job for you, unless for very specialized jobs or for cleaning buildings. Or unless you begin one on your own, if you can deal with all taxes and expenses.
But we can't worry too much about this shit.

I've been unemployed for a while now... and while I dig being able to sleep as long as I please in the mornings and stay up and out as long as I want, it is really, really beginning to become annoying to ration everything... I haven't had a smoke in ages and I live of pasta and tomato sauce. And oranges, ever since I had that brief bit of scurvy (yeah, I actually got scurvy... not enough vitamin C, man). I'm almost scared to write this, but I could really use a job, just so I can stop living like guttertrash.

I'm a single mum and since my one kid is autistic, the gov't deemed him fit enough to need all my attention .
Imagine, getting paid (less than minimum wage) to raise your kids.
But, I got bored...he just went into kindergarten so I went back to college, for something to do. (student loan)
Then he kinda needed my attention at school and I wasn't 'present' enough, so i finished my classes and dropped out before the practicum. fuck it dude. If i died tomorrow, i'd be fulfilled knowing i spent my time with the kids instead of looking for a job on a weekday.
Anyhow. So, i'm gonna go work part time. Just enough to pay the rent.

Funny...I was talking to my ex (their dad) and he expressed concern over how hard eldercare-homecare can be. I said, "yeah, but if I dont' like it, i'll just quit and go work at the movie store or something else"
He laughed. (this is unfathomable to him. just QUIT?!) Anyhow, working at the movie store is really my ultimate job. I don't know why i haven't applied yet.

"If i died tomorrow, i'd be fulfilled knowing i spent my time with the kids instead of looking for a job on a weekday."

I dig this sentence. That's all life is all about. When you have enough to feed them, and dress them and for buying what's really needed it's time to enjoy their company.

A+.  8)

Who the fuck is Rick?

Whiteheart: Fuckin' A wo-man! I am livin' the life of the Dude myself. I haven't had a job in over 10 years. I used to be self employed, now I am just myself. 8) I get room and board and all I have to do is viddy the kiddies and some light carpentry. I have been without an income for a few years now, just spent my last ten bucks on a shitty flick (I bought it because Jeff Bridges is in it, and it actually has a few references to TBL) so I need some more bones, or clams.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I am one seriously lazy dude, I have been livin' the life of the Dude since before there even was a Dude! I am a good example of what not to be, unless you want to be happy most of the time. I get free smoke from a good friend, and the occasional oat soda or white Russian that rolls my way. I even get a request to help the lady friends conceive, every now and again. If they only want me for my seed, hey that's cool.
