Title: Adi Shankara
Post by: Ookafa on October 23, 2018, 09:28:56 PM
I would consider Adi Shankara to be a great Dude of history, a teacher of non-duality.

He explained the Upanishads. Wait, what?

I?ll try to put it in a nutshell. The space inside a nutshell and the space outside a nutshell are the same space. Space is a good symbol for Existence | Awareness.

We are Existence | Awareness... we?re like space.

People tell me I?m like air... I?m like, yeah, I?m like space.

Namaste Dude 🙏🏻

A quote from Vivekananda....

?Never ever call man, the crown and glory of creation a sinner!?

The entire universe is truly the Self. There exists nothing at all other than the Self. The enlightened person sees everything in the world as his own Self, just as one views earthenware jars and pots as nothing but clay.

Everything in a dream is made of consciousness. Life is like that.

When dreaming, it seems like you?re only one character, but everything in the dream is made of you. You are awareness.

Dreams express a type of consciousness.
Waking life expresses a type of consciousness.
They are not the same.
Simply because both are an expression of consciousness does not make them equal.
Same as an LSD trip is an expression of consciousness.

And in real life everything is not made of you.
You have a subjective experience which constitutes how you experience reality but if that subjective experience differs by a very large degree from objective reality it is delusion.

As I said a person can fly in dreams.
If they actually believe that I can fly in the real world they need a padded room.
