Title: Ordaining question
Post by: Brother D on May 11, 2017, 02:04:45 PM
Hey dudes, it's been a while. Hope you're taking it easy out there.

There's a lebowski party thing at a bar in my home town next week, (y'know, fancy dress, deals on Caucasians etc), but I was wondering, if asked, as an ordained minister of dudeism, can I ordain anyone (like a street preacher) with the vow at the end of the abide guide,  or should I point them to the website?

there's video of the Dudely Lama ordaining people on the spot, but I don't know if that applies to all Dudeists.  I mean, it should, right?  But we just don't know dude.  I think perhaps we should ask him.  He'd be in a unique position to either confirm or disconfirm that.

Until they're registered on the website, they're not officially ordained. For those few I've ordained "on the fly" I've always made sure to get their email and full name so I can register them. That way they receive their email telling them they are official.

I suppose it would imply I had some authority in dudeist circles (which I don't). I guess affirmation is OK to the pre ordained, so I reckon you are right. If asked, I will point them to the website.

Thankee dudes, y'all are righteous ????
