Title: Palentine's Day (2/13/17)
Post by: Anchorite83 on February 12, 2017, 11:05:30 PM
"Palentine?s Day

February 13
Valentine?s day can put a lot of pressure on couples and be a real drag for those who are single. Instead of celebrating romantic love, the Dudeist Palentine?s day celebrates pals, friendships and good buddies. Occurs one day before Valentine?s Day so that those who are in romantic relationships can celebrate it as well."

Hope you have a great Pals Day, dudes. Do something that celebrates friendship. Just a few minutes ago I donated $10 to a friend of mine who is going through some hardship. This leaves me with $10 in my wallet because, well, times have been tough for me too. It's all good, there's always a brighter day down the road.

Dude!

Not a Dudeist thing!

Though I appreciate the motivation, can you please stop trying to fill my calendar with what are actually your opinion and not really prescribed Dudeist practices.

The statement

Quote from: Anchorite83

the Dudeist Palentine's day celebrates pals, friendships and good buddies.

Where does that come from? (I didn't vote for it).

In the brief time I was away was there a whole bunch of holidays agreed on or are you (as I believe) just making this up and then stating it like it is a fact?

Perhaps if you have an idea for some aspect of Dudeism you could voice it in other terms, rather than stating "This is a Dudeist thing!" try something like "Dudes I have an idea that I think would be a good thing!"

And finally can I point you at:

HAPPY PALENTINE'S DAY! (http://bemypalentine.blogspot.co.uk/) from 2008.

Dude I understand your want to participate, this is a good thing, but perhaps sit back and chill for a bit, read some posts from some major contributors (look at some of cckeiser's posts, a Dude much missed).

Actually it is, although we've changed the name to Pal-o-mine's day.

None of this is meant to be taken too seriously. We're just having fun here. The holidays are all optional.
