Title: Wish I had just done nothing
Post by: SagebrushSage on November 13, 2016, 02:37:48 AM
Folks knock the chill lifestyle. But it's better than wasting time and money on counterproductive efforts. I'd be much better off if I had spent the last 10 years working at McD's, which I liked, and generally sitting on the couch accomplishing nothing. My college education was worthless and also expensive. I would be happier and healthier, I would have more money in the bank, and I would have a better resume if I had aspired to nothing whatsoever. So folks shouldn't knock Dudeism. It's not the best way of living, but one could do a lot worse.

I feel you. Most people have to chose between jobs that pay well and jobs that don't crush your soul. You're lucky as a marmot in a warm bath tub if you find one that checks both boxes.

College ain't for everyone, yo. It's great if you know what you want to do and need a degree to do it. Otherwise, it's a pretty good way to have fun while racking up $100,000+ in student loans. In many ways, college serves as a holding pen for young adults who wouldn't be able to find jobs. Nice way to hold down the unemployment numbers, too.

"I'm not unemployed...I'm double-majoring in gender dysphoria and migratory flora."

My life is a series of embarrassments. I have so much work to do. I am behind by the amount of time that I have been alive. I was denied high school. I learned nothing useful at college. It was all a waste. I hate my life so very much.

Welp, that's my rant on this subject. Time to get to work salvaging something from this giant mess.

Yeah, I'm dubious about how helpful my education was in gaining employment. I learned some great stuff, but I haven't had a chance to put most of it into practice.
