I accidentally started a new thread instead of replying to previous one, sorry.
I think most of us have a list of films with memorable moments in them. I have a few myself and have learned much about life, the universe and everything (ironically not from hitchhikers guide to the galaxy).
Here are a few of my favourites.
From Powder (1995, Dir Tim Burton).

Donnie Darko, (Everything dies alone).

Star wars, (Fear, anger).

The Matrix, (What is real?).

There's others too. I guess truth is wherever you find it.
The Matrix had a lot of metaphysical themes hidden behind all of the sci-fi stuff. There is no spoon, my friends.
The thing that really caught my attention in Star Wars was Ben Kenobi's rather vague description of The Force: "It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." That simple statement rang more true to me than all of the Christian Dogma I'd grown up with. I didn't know it at the time, but realized years later (with the help of a good friend and mentor) that it was my introduction to Metaphysics.
I know there are others, but none of 'em are coming to mind at the moment. :-\
