I've never watched Deadwood, but I've heard good things about it. Think I'll check it out now
Nice! It seems the fate of many great shows is to be canceled before their time or to be discovered when it's already too late. I'm still hoping they make a Bored to Death movie, That was one of my favorite shows back in my stoner days.
This is pretty timely. I couldn't get into Deadwood but just read an article about all the series being cancelled to make room for next year's new shows. Here it is (and, hey, I just noticed that URL is pretty misleading...it's better than that).

The only one that struck me was "Galavant." It was weird and great and cool and completely destined to be cancelled. I mean, an Arthurian comedy-saga in musical form replete with in-jokes and archaic references? Not exactly "The Bachelor." It's a shame but most of the better written and staged TV shows don't last long.
Good luck on the Deadwood thing.

I can't think of another show that more needed to be taken to it's conclusion than Deadwood. It was horrible that it just ended without resolving.
Justified and Breaking Bad also needed, and received resolution.
Deadwood's lack of one is like having an itch directly between the shoulder blades.
This confirms it.
It is happening.

No less a source than the network's programming president Michael Lombardo said "it's going to happen," TV Line reported at the Television Critics Association's press tour party in Pasadena on Thursday. Creator David Milch has apparently pitched a story for the profanity filled and critically acclaimed cult-favorite Western's reunion.

Deadwood captured something about freedom and optimism and mixed it with a healthy dose of black humor. Similar to Breaking Bad in some respects.
