I'm sure many have heard. I woke up to see it on my Facebook news feed. David Bowie passed away at 69 after an 18 month battle with cancer. Great musician, so sad to see him go...

When I first found out I thought it was probably just another "death hoax", but couldn't imagine why anyone would choose him for something like that. Sadly, it proved to be true, and we've lost another Dude to history. :'(
I did read that someone had announced David Camerons death by mistake! In honour of Bowie's passing, I did pay tribute by listening to his music as a reminder of what a talented guy he was. (Did the same when I heard Lemmy had passed too, though turned it up to 11!)
Some people are interpreting the video to his song "Lazarus" as his way of saying "Goodbye" to his fans. I'm not convinced one way or another, but in light of his passing it seems possible:

DB's head is bowed. :(
One of my favorites...

Big loss.
Used to love the 70's era stuff. Aladdin Sane, Station to Station.
And Diamond Dogs. Weird trippy post apocalyptic stuff.
He was punk before there was punk.
Bowie was an indescribable genius.
Nobody else was doing stuff as wild and thought provoking as this back then.
He really did seem like "the man who fell to earth".

I don't know about the rest of you but in retrospect I found 2016 a bit of a heavy year.
Not helped by the deaths of people like David Bowie.
For me there was always something people could find in his music somewhere. Personally I loved the Berlin stuff he did with Eno (Low (1977), "Heroes" (1977) and Lodger (1979)), but my mate adored his most recent stuff.
As I say everyone found something, a shame he has gone.
