I'm only a few episodes in, but Hawkeye Pierce is Dude before Dude was a thing, and I love it. I love that he's this doctor that spends ours a day helping causalities and seeing horrible shit, and then he gets off shift and does pretty much whatever he can to abide.
I imagine this'll only be a revelation to younger dudes, but it's on Netflix and it's totally worth watching.
M*A*S*H was enjoyable for me until right around the time the cast changes started, because the producers or the writers (or whoever) suddenly decided to turn it into The Alan Alda Show, and every episode had to have a message and it just got too "preachy". By the time Gary Burghoff (Radar) left they should have stuck a fork in it and called it done.
