and again show my support for the dude that nominated Bill Hicks.
George Carlin is My RELIGEON!!!!!!!!!!! He is the only reason I hope there is afterlife, because you just know he is doing something about the shit that's going down in this CRAZY world!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude was too busy hating yuppies to be a priest of ours, but definitely a beatified member of the laity.
The funniest man that ever lived is gone, but he will always live!!! He is probably up there cracking up God!!! R.I.P, George.

As much as he would vehemently disaprove of a statement like this if he still existed in some tangible form (ie, were not dead), I have to agree with the above poster, this man makes me yearn for the prospect of some kind of continued consciousness after physical death, just to spend a few seconds basking in the aura of ol' Georgie's intellect.

I think George was more of an anti bullshit-theist, than a standard atheist. It was the hypocrisy and self inflicted slavery of organized religion that earned his ire, and rightfully so. What's so funny about it is that those are the exact same reasons Jesus rejected the authorities of his day. George hated the anthropomorphic bearded old man on a throne giving all of mankind a one question pop-quiz, the failure of which leads to trillions of years of unspeakable horror and suffering. What person in their right mind, religious or not, could love such a god? Even as a believer in some creative force/entity, I too am as opposed to everything Carlin opposed in religion.

Did he believe in nothing?
