Hi Dudes!

Sorry for not having been around for a while (as if any of you actually noticed).

Lots of threads. Moved job (finished last month, 17th July) Started new job (27th July).

Huge improvement in work life balance (was getting home 2130-2200hrs, now getting home 1930-2000hrs).

But all my passwords are on a USB devices that I'm not allowed to plug into PC at new job so had all sorts of trouble trying to "remember" passwords.

So have been on the forum just ghosting in the background.

How is everyone?

Congrats on the new position and re-centered universe.

The increasing number and complexity of passwords is overwhelming. If we're going to be the subjects of a surveillance state, they could at least provide a way to use DNA markers in lieu of passwords. I'd rather give a drop of blood each time than try to remember whether I capitalized every other letter, put an ankh at the end, or used the emoji for a Cleveland Steamer in the latest iteration of my base password.

We just figured you went on Dudeist retreat or went to the mountains to get your head together man.
As I do often.

They supposedly pushed an update at us that disallowed USB devices but somehow I missed it.
I generally postpone restarts to install updates and sometimes the internal ones go away before I finally install. Hey I got shit to do man. In this case it worked to my favor.
I really really would hate it if I couldn't backup all my source code at certain times.
It's mostly a security blanket since it's all in SVN and Mercurial anyway but I always feel better keeping my own backups as an absolute last fail safe.
