That's right, I'm talking about shopping cart abandoners.
Today as I went to Kroger's this fat-assed lazy piece of white trash set her empty cart right in the middle of a parking spot that I was trying to turn into. She looked at me and visibly heaved a sigh as if I asked her to trek up a mountain. She gave it a half-hearted little shove so I could pull in. Now I can slack with the best of them, but this shuffling bag of mayonnaise had a cart corral no less than 5 feet from her... in BOTH directions. That's right, there was a cart corral on either side of her.
I let a little of my inner Walter out and lambasted her, publicly shaming her that she couldn't waddle her lazy ass 5 feet in either direction, and just left her cart in the middle of a parking space.
I still feel good about myself.
it's kinda hard to feel zen sometimes, especialy when people do their best to annoy you..
maybe she got caught in a dilema on wich corral to go park it.
I don't have a driving licence yet, so I couldn't tell how I'd react... but yeah I guess you did right
I dunno man, paraquat come in many forms. Maybe they should go in the pet peev or just plain fuckin' annoying category. Not quite worthy of a full walter meltdown, but some people need a little help to realise they are being a dick. Manners cost nothing.
Oh, I didn't go full on Walter or anything. Just a bit un-dude. Something along the lines of:, "Really?! You can't walk your lazy ass right there, or there? You leave it where it can roll in front of any car? Seriously? It's right fucking there!" Then to myself: Inconsiderate lazy bitch!
Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine. Even as a little kid, I'd yell at people who just let their carts roll away. Not only can those things cause damage by rolling into and denting your car, but they can roll into traffic and cause accidents.
If people can walk their ass all over a store, then they can take their lazy ass a couple more feet in consideration for others. And most people here in the US could use the exercise (myself included).
Am I wrong? Am I wrong? (Or maybe I'm right, but I'm an asshole) ;D
I've actually seen people walk farther to abandon their empty cart in the middle of the parking lot (with the other abandoned carts) than they would have walked if they'd taken it to the nearest cart corral. You can't fix stupid.
Fuckin' A Rev Al. Stupid is as stupid does. There is laidback laziness and there is ignorant don't give a shit. The latter is laughable mang though abandoned shopping carts (or trollies us here in the uk would call 'em) can save us vital energy from getting one ourselves, which would be exhausting.
And zoeabides, you're not wrong, nor an asshole.
that's some wise words dude, saving energy is the key.
even if I might react as Zoeabides, you got quite a point

Whal, they finally did it; they killed my fuckin' shopping cart...

I don't know if this is something that goes on elsewhere but here in the US we seem to have a tremendous sense of entitlement going on. Selfish motherfuckers who don't give a runny half-shit about their fellows. It wasn't always like this, seems to have really come on in the last few years.
My wife is confused by the fact that I always park far away from the doors to whatever store we're going to. I try to explain that these lazy fucks always want to park up close so their fat ass doesn't have to waddle so far to get their Twinkies. In that way it protects us from these errant shopping carts left to blow in the wind. But it seems that there's never a time when I'm in that environment where some ignorant piece of shit hasn't left his cart in a spot that lets all of us know how much more important he/she is than the rest of us.
I applaud all who go Full Walter on these fucks. I hope that you regret nothing.
Good for you Zoe, I would've done the same thing. I don't think you were out of line at all, people need to be called out on their obliviousness to their surroundings and especially their lack of manners, which seems to be rampant nowadays.
I recently learned not to park anywhere near a handicap zone(not for fear of being towed) but the people who park there are either a million years old and completely unaware of what's going on, or they are obese tubs of goo who cant be bothered to be careful of their car doors or carts hitting other vehicles.
I once came out of Home Depot and watched this unfold before my eyes- as an old fart was loading his Xmas tree into his trunk, his heavy utility cart(not a shopping cart) rolled right into the side of my truck. I yelled for him to stop it but he had no idea what was happening. I maintained and didn't go all Walter, but stated my disapproval. I got an apology, and also a scratch and small dent on my truck. While irritated, as I drove away I thought about him buying an xmas tree... Maybe it was for him and his wife, trying to share one more xmas together, or maybe it was for his daughter and his wife had passed away...
After reflecting on those thoughts the scratch didn't seem to matter much.
I learned to look more at the big picture that night, but I still don't park near a handicap zone. Life lessons dudes...

Like everyone else, I've bemoaned the rampant lack of courtesy and consideration in public. It's seemed like society is only a few weeks away from Mad Max in the Thunderdome and that we'll all be hoarding water and shooting people over a can of beans. But that's some insightful stuff right there. Switches up the ole' perspective a bit. I like it.
my way is just to ignore people, music in my ears, I don't look at them. so when someone does something stupid, unless it's urgent or aimed at me, I just let it hapend and walk my way.
Last time I found a skull (dog skull) on my campus, and when giving it back to it's owner, he said I was a twit and a thief, making me realise I didn't like college anyway. so since I decided not to go again, and focus on my life relaxing and doing stuff I like, instead of interacting with people.
Some people are overreacting dumbasses, but I can't change it, so I just cut myself from the worl, and pretend they don't exist.
don't know how a normal adult would react..
Is it weird to think of abandoned shopping carts as separated from the herd? I like to occasionally bring them back to the fold if theres one on my way to returning mine. Saves someone a job later on, y'know. Kinda karmic really....
"Karmic"? like karma? (english isn't my main)

I do this as well. I'm being more selfish about it as far as my motives. I move the shopping carts either into the corral or back into the store if they are within what I consider to be kind of radius of risk to my personal property. Like if a slight breeze picks up and blows it into my fender. There's another part of me that thinks that if I make the effort to take someone else's cart back into the store on my way in that it might be kind of a Hundredth Monkey kind of thing and other people might start to do it, too.
Exactamundo puck dude, like karma.
And as for the hundredth monkey thing, yeah, pay it forward, small acts of kindness add up. Even if only one person thinks its a good idea, then thats dudeism at work.
Ps, sorry for going off on a tangent and blathering shit, dudes.
karma is cool.
hen you got the strength it's cool to do good stuff. I used to share pizza with hobos in my town, some cool dudes. even got a cool handmade stone pendant by helping a random guy while visiting Toulouse.

I definitely agree. Usually it is not that far and I don't like to trip because of abandoned carts (my shins...) so why should I make other people trip. Besides, a standard unbroken cart is moving like a sledge, so you can even have some fun moving it in a controlled way.
