Brilliant!  Wavy Gravy is a unique individual and something of an acquired taste, but I dig him.

Wavy is da man.
I recommend his documentary "Saint Misbehavin".

That doc is where I learned what little I know of Wavy.  Initially he comes across as a bit of a lunatic, but his genius lies in his use of the old idiom, "You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar."  He disarms people with humor; he draws them in with smiles and laughter and makes them feel comfortable, and once that positive energy is flowing he talks with them (not to them or at them) because they'll be more receptive to his message (whatever that message might be at any given time).  In videos, I've seen the Dudely Lama do the same thing to promote Dudeism (though without the clown makeup and excessive antics).  Both men immediately let people know that they don't take everything so seriously no matter how strongly they believe in whatever they're promoting.  Fortunately, they both use their powers for good instead of evil.  ;D

Hopefully he is a window for people to discover the others like him.
The merry pranksters for instance.
Wavy was one of the founders of the "Hog Farm" thing.

The Hog Farm is an organization considered to be America's longest running hippie commune. With beginnings as an actual collective hog farm in Tujunga, California, the group, founded in the 1960s by peace activist and clown Wavy Gravy, evolved into a "mobile, hallucination-extended family", active internationally in both music and politics.
The pranksters were Ken Kesey's bunch. The acid tests. Birth of the Grateful Dead, Owsley, The magic bus, yadda yadda.

That hog farm, commune thing is more alive now than ever.
Now a days they call it "cooperative culture". Overall it's a very Dude undertaking.
