Iceland to build first temple to Norse gods since Viking age
Icelanders will soon be able to publicly worship at a shrine to Thor, Odin and Frigg with construction starting this month on the island?s first major temple to the Norse gods since the Viking age.
Worship of the gods in Scandinavia gave way to Christianity around 1,000 years ago but a modern version of Norse paganism has been gaining popularity in Iceland.

That's interesting, man. That's fucking interesting - http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/02/iceland-temple-norse-gods-1000-years (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/02/iceland-temple-norse-gods-1000-years)
Long have I admired the Asataru movement, but still a bit too organised as a religion for me.
;D
I actually spotted this on the BBC website:

but nice to see the Guardian covering it as well.
And a good example of a "fringe" group financing their own projects.
Anyone else see the microphone as an odd accompaniment to the otherwise ancient looking attire and setting? I notice the same stuff when a priest is swinging the incense thingie and rocking out a bluetooth, too, though.
I like the group's clarification of their beliefs and statement of what they're getting out of the whole thing. I wonder if there's a touristy element, too. I'ma keep an eye on these people. They're up to sumfin.

Someone, somewhere, is probably thinking the same thing about us Dudeists. ;D
What the Frigg!
Ah Frigg it.
Damn, we don't have any gods to worship; so I guess it's bowling, beer and an In N Out Burger.
...and zesty coitus.

This has nothing to do with Norse God Temples in Iceland, but a couple of weeks ago the family across the street hosted a wedding and reception at their house, and the bride
insisted the wedding be catered by In-N-Out. Apparently, they'll roll a "Cookout Trailer" (i.e., a truck with a grill) up to wherever you want (within reason) and cook as many burgers and fries as you want...as long as you order (or at least pay for) a minimum of $1,500 worth. 8)

$1,500? I'll just go and find a cash machine.

Just wanted to point out that they are Pagans not LARPers (http://www.larping.org/) or Sealed Knot (http://www.thesealedknot.org.uk/)!
I myself am a practicing Pagan (yes a Dudeist Pagan), and am:
