Title: More Wedding Questions
Post by: travis_metalhead on April 01, 2009, 02:27:25 PM
Hey, man.  I was ordained by the church of latter day dude and am interested in performing a marriage this Saturday.  I went to the country clerk to see if it was dudeism was recognized or if it needed to be recognized and there is no list of recognized churches in the state of Missouri.  Does anybody know if Missouri is a cool state to do this? Also, I didn't have to file any credentials with the clerk, which leaves me to believe that this whole thing is pretty open to all religions.  Lastly, I know of a couple that was legally married here in Missouri and it was a Wiccan wedding, so if that can be done, why not mine?  Can anybody leave me more feedback? Thanks man

If they don't have a list of recognized churches, then you can assume that Dudeism is legally recognized as well as any more "established" church.  One thing to do would be to look up the actual legal statute pertaining to marriage in that state and see what that says.
