Title: A Dude in Need is a Dude Indeed
Post by: jgiffin on October 07, 2014, 10:00:04 PM
Hey, dudes, there's no dedicated forum for this but I could use some help.

A bit of background. My dog, Walter P. Jenkins, is an uber-dude. He sprawls on the back of my armchair watching traffic all day, licks drops of white russians from my fingertips at night, and doesn't get starched about anything. And Walter, well, Walter had a ball, man. He had a ball that really tied his life together. He took this thing everywhere. I bathe every morning and he would sit on the ledge with the ball - yeah, it fell in a couple times. When we were outside smoking a cigar, he nestled the ball between his front paws. He took the ball on trips to the veterinarian, doggie groomer, and the park. It was his rug. His rug.

This part hurts, man. Walter's new (adopted) brother, Carlos Gutierrez, killed his ball. I mean, he shredded that thing. It is no more. It has ceased to be. It is not, dudes, simply pining for the fjords. We haven't been able to find a replacement anywhere...well, until now. This is the ball: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Vinyl-pet-tennis-ball_60041453799.html (http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Vinyl-pet-tennis-ball_60041453799.html) So, you see the problem: minimum quantity is 2,000. I could probably swing the $160.00 but shipping will suck and what the fuck do I do with 1,999 rubber balls?

Anyway, I'd like to elicit the assistance of the brotherhood to keep an eye out for this ball in a more reasonable quantity. A heads-up on availability would be appreciated and a purchase will be reimbursed upon shipping. Also, if you wanna chip in on a lot of 2,000 blue rubber balls, please let me know.

Also, I thought this might be a semi-quasi-partially useful thread in case anyone else could use the collective apathy of hundreds of dudes in bathrobes.

Worthy endeavor, man.

Hard to tell from that single photo, was it anything like this?

Thanks but nope. The first pic really is close - it was kinda more bluish than pure white. I think the seams were painted on. If they were raised, it wasn't much. Thanks for looking, though.

Bummer man.

Maybe this will help your perspective though- at least you still have your dog(s) to play and cuddle with. Cherish every moment with them man.

Hi man, I hope you got the ball for Walter but if you didn't I have a tip for you.

I make business in alibaba all the time and you can ask for a sample or two so you can check the product (there is a lot of bad product out there). You pay for the sample and shipping so you don't feel bad onces you tell him that you wont buy it because x or y reason. Hope this helps.
