That is very cool!  It's certainly one of the best replicas I've seen.  Would you be willing to share how it was made, or maybe post a clearer/larger image of it (or at least the whale graphic)?

Sorry dude, I hit the modify button instead of the quote. No harm intended. My bad.

Not sure who it was made by (or what she used to make it), but I would do it using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Either program would work well. You could also probably use Windows Paint to do it, although Paint is not as robust or capable as Corel or Illustrator.

That's just like my opinion, man. 8)

Oh, okay.  The whale graphic on the original prop is reasonably unique, and I've had some difficulty trying to replicate it using Photoshop; it doesn't help having Bridges' fingers blocking parts of it in every shot.  Thanks!

Sounds cool, post what you create, dude. 8)(http://dudeism.com/smf/Themes/default/images/post/thumbup.gif)

If I ever finish it, I will.   ;)

A worthy effort for sure.
Suitable for framing.
Perhaps it should be made available.

I do what I can...I mean, as little as I can...I...uhhh...oh, you know what I mean.   ;D  Truth is, I'm waiting for the mood and the muse to strike; if I'm not into it, I may as well mark it zero.

And a good dudely policy I would call that. ;D

I've got very few computer graphics skills but my wife did this sorta quick and dirty like:

Where's the money, Lebowski?

The upper image is the screengrab I was working from, the bottom image is what I came up with.  It's not perfect, but I think it'll do for now.

The number to the right of the date in the upper right hand corner is probably wrong because I couldn't make it out, so I just threw some numbers in there that looked good.  Also, everything in the lower left hand corner (the whale's tail, the bank address, and the computer number at the bottom) is probably inaccurate as well because Bridges' hand is blocking that part of the check in the movie and we never see it.  The bank information is actually for a restaurant called Bank of Venice in Venice, California; I stumbled across it and thought it would be funny.

I didn't include the hand-written parts because a) So little of it is actually filled out in the movie, b) I thought it would be better to let people write whatever they want on it, and c) I'm not that good at stuff like this.  ;D

Now, I had to make the check twice as big as it should be so that it would print clearly.  That means you'll have to either print the check at 50% size, or set it to print 6" wide by 3" high (depending on the printing software you'll be using).  The black line around the perimeter is so you'll know where to cut it.  The "dotted" line near the top represents the perforations on a real check, so you can cut or tear it there if you want your check to look like it's been torn out of a checkbook.

Enjoy!

Edit 09/13/14:  I removed the watermarked version and posted the "ready to print" version because I caught flak for posting the watermarked image on a "prop replica" forum I also frequent.  I had to replace it, so if it's out there, it's out there, and there's no reason to try to keep the con artists from ripping off my work on this forum and not do it on that one.  I can't be worried about that shit; life goes on, man.  Besides, Karma will get them.  ;)

Nice work, Al  8)

(Can't figure out how to do a thumbs up smiley, but it's the thought that counts, right?)

Thanks, man!  I enjoy the challenge of trying to get the end product as close as possible to the real deal without driving myself crazy in the process.   ;)
