Title: Input Wanted on Possible Script Idea - "The Dude Presides"
Post by: jgiffin on July 31, 2014, 01:42:02 PM
I reckon it's a stretch, but seeing the ole Dude forced to take up the black robes (perhaps due to some infraction of his own or because of a horrible misunderstanding) could be worth watching.

How would the Dude parcel out justice to those in his Court?

Interact with bailiffs, clerks, lahwyuhs, etc?

Deal with the pressures of having a job, sir?

The concept lends itself to potential cameos by a motley assortment of characters from TBL. Jesus on pederast-ery; Bunny on prostitution; Walter on about anything involving violence; Liam on public intoxication (damn Irish); the list goes on.

And, at the very least, the title rhymes with "The Dude Abides". Worth taking a look at?

I don't believe the Dude would be very good a metering out Justice.
He's  very good at smoothing things day to day, you know tying the room together, but once things get to the point of litigation I don't see him as the right Dude for that time and place.
He'd need a couple more helpings of Walter.
Justice by definition is not about Abiding.

Dude this isn't Nam. There are rules.
